When Mr. Vitalis Nyambeka founded Pillars of Hope Children’s Home in 2013, he never imagined the road would be as challenging as it has been rewarding. Starting in Noonkopir, Kitengela, the home quickly grew to support 81 children by 2017. But with growth came challenges — rent became unaffordable, and we were forced to relocate.
Our move to Daystar, Machakos County, near Moke Gardens, offered a fresh start. But land disputes soon threatened our stability once again. For the second time, we packed our belongings and our dreams, searching for a place to call home.
Today, we lease land in Machakos County, near Daystar University. While we dream of a permanent home one day, we are grateful for the safety and stability we have now. Through it all, our children have shown incredible resilience. They have learned that home is not just a building — it is the people who love you, the community that supports you, and the hope that keeps you moving forward.
